The Best of Broadway, The Songs You Know and Love
Auditions will be held December 1 for the 2012 edition of Lyric’s annual fundraiser, The Best of Broadway: The Songs You Know and Love, which runs February 5 & 12 at the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza.
Auditions will be from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Ave.. Use the west front door..
Director Jane Ursan is looking for men and women of all ages for this one-hour revue, featuring well-known ensemble numbers, solos and duets from Broadway shows. It’s a great way to get started in musical theatre! If you would like to be considered for a solo, please prepare a musical theatre song for the audition (an accompanist will be provided), but if you just want to join the ensemble, come and sing one verse of your favorite Christmas carol or even O Canada. Don’t be nervous—the only requirement is that you can sing in tune!
This year’s fundraiser will feature a three-course meal in the Regency Ballroom at the Hotel Saskatchewan at 12 noon, followed by the entertainment at 1 p.m.
All tickets $45; a tax receipt issued for a portion of the ticket price. Tickets will be available December 1 by calling 789-7763 (they make great stocking stuffers!) and available after January 1 at Bach & Beyond, Golden Mile Centre.
